Projex solutions were tasked by a food supplier company to provide a turnkey project package for the automation of flake packing line. The existing process consist of a number of plant operators to manually fill, check, weigh, seal, print, and palletize the 12.5 kg bags of graded flake. The flake has three outputs A grade, down grade and reject each having its own packaging.
The working environment on site required investigation into the ATEX zoning classification as the product has an excess of dust. This was found to be highly combustible after testing through Projex Solutions Ltd by an authorized body. Subsequent hazardous area classification drawings were produced by ourselves and this was taken into account in the design of the automation line.
Projex Solutions Ltd designed the new layout for the automated packing line and sourced suppliers to fulfil the requirements of the client.
